Con Ja Nai!
Once a year, we have a massive event called Con Ja Nai (which means, in English, "It's not a con[vention].") Con Ja Nai includes four screening rooms of anime, and runs from 10 a.m. till midnight. We show a lot of great anime titles that many people have never heard of, as well as a few old favorites. It's a great day of fun, and we love it. We hope that you'll join us for this year's Con Ja Nai XV.

"Screenings"
Animania holds free, monthly screenings of anime. Why? We think anime is an incredible art form, and we want everyone to know about it! We're not just talking about cartoons here -- we're talking about a medium that is not necessarily intended for children, and that covers every genre you could name: action, drama, romance, suspense, horror, and more, including several genres specific to anime.
Each screening includes a mix of old and new titles in various genres. Most screenings last about eight hours, and you can come to watch everything, or only the titles you want to see. All of the anime we show is subtitled in English (we don't care for dubbed anime, as a general rule), allowing our audience to enjoy anime the way nature intended it to be: with the original Japanese voice actors and actresses belting out their lines in all of their goofy/dramatic/serious splendor. Combine great anime with a larger-than-life projected image and full stereo sound, and you've got yourself a recipe for an incredible night of free entertainment!
Again, all screenings are free and open to everyone. According to University policy, minors must be accompanied by a parent or a responsible adult. |
